Slovak bank to finance equipment supplies to Grodno Azot

Under the credit agreement signed between Belarusbank and Vseobecna Uverova Banka a.s, the Slovak bank will finance the supplies of Slovak equipment to Grodno Azot. The equipment is produced by the OTEZA s.r.o. company, it was learnt from Belarusbank.

Apart from that, in 2009 Belarusbank arranged a deal to supply Slovak technological equipment made by Vzduchotorg s.r.o. to Volozhin Creamery and Kopyl Creamery. The deal was financed by German banks, while the insurance coverage was provided by the Export-Import Bank of the Slovak Republic.

According to Deputy Chairman of Belarusbank Vladimir Novik, the total amount of loans granted for these projects exceeds €7 million.

The cooperation between Belarusbank and Slovak financial institutions began in 2005 when a cooperation agreement was signed between Belarusbank and the Ex-Im Bank. Under the agreement, the Slovak side is to provide Belarus with long-term loans and insurance coverage to facilitate the bilateral trade.

The financial cooperation between the two countries was discussed on 28 August 2009 at the meeting between Deputy Chairman of Belarusbank Vladimir Novik and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovakia to Belarus Marian Servatka.

In 2009, Belarusbank raised syndicated loans worth €100 million. These loans were provided by banks from Germany, Poland, Austria and other countries.
