The 13th St Petersburg International Economic Forum will convene nearly 8,000 people: top officials of various countries, ministers, representatives of the word business elite. 

The forum was founded 13 years ago as a platform to discuss the CIS geopolitical prospects. St Petersburg Forum will officially open on June 5, although on June 4 the participants of the forum will gather for thematic roundtables, negotiations and ceremonies of signing first agreements. The first official day of the forum will highlight the international problems, with the lessons of the global crisis, its impact on various sectors of the economy (from energy to cinema production) at the top. On June 6, so-called financial day, the participants of the forum will discuss post-crisis financial architecture, reformation of the international financial institutions, prospects for reserve currencies. 

The World Grain Forum will open on June 6 as well. Its agenda will include creation of the grain reserve fund that is expected to help respond to the world food challenges.
