In November 2021, it will celebrate the centenary of its inception. On June 28, 2001, the Minsk State Medical Institute was renamed into the state leading higher educational institution "Belarusian State Medical University". 1925 - the first graduation of doctors took place (21 people received a diploma of graduation from the faculty). 1967 - the medical faculty of foreign students was opened. 1995 - the military medical faculty was organized as part of the institute. 2001 - the institute received the status of the leading medical university of the Republic of Belarus. September 2011 - Faculty of Pharmacy was opened. In December 2011, the university was certified for compliance with the requirements of STB ISO 9001-2009 and DIN EN ISO 9001:2008. The international activities of the educational institution "Belarusian State Medical University" are carried out in accordance with the activity plan of the university, the action plan for the development of the export of educational and medical services of the university, agreements on academic and scientific cooperation with foreign partners and other local regulations. The purpose of the university's international activities is the internationalization of higher and postgraduate education through integration into the international scientific and educational space.
