Belarusian State Medical University is the leading higher medical educational institution of the Republic of Belarus

In November 2021, it will celebrate the centenary of its inception. On June 28, 2001, the Minsk State Medical Institute was renamed into the state leading higher educational institution "Belarusian State Medical University". 1925 - the first graduation of doctors took place (21 people received a diploma of graduation from the faculty). 1967 - the medical faculty of foreign students was opened. 1995 - the military medical faculty was organized as part of the institute. 2001 - the institute received the status of the leading medical university of the Republic of Belarus. September 2011 - Faculty of Pharmacy was opened. In December 2011, the university was certified for compliance with the requirements of STB ISO 9001-2009 and DIN EN ISO 9001:2008. The international activities of the educational institution "Belarusian State Medical University" are carried out in accordance with the activity plan of the university, the action plan for the development of the export of educational and medical services of the university, agreements on academic and scientific cooperation with foreign partners and other local regulations. The purpose of the university's international activities is the internationalization of higher and postgraduate education through integration into the international scientific and educational space. Internationalization is one of the key factors in the competitiveness of a university in the modern world. Thanks to the rapid development of information and communication technologies and the introduction of distance learning, a single world educational market has been formed, where universities act as full-fledged players beyond national borders. The main tasks of the Belarusian State Medical University in the context of internationalization are: strengthening international competitiveness in the field of higher education: developing new foreign markets and diversifying the export of educational services; establishment of stable partnerships with leading foreign universities and international organizations, development of long-term contractual relations; use in the educational process of world educational and scientific experience, technologies, teaching methods, etc.;development and implementation of international educational programs and projects based on bilateral and multilateral cooperation agreements; development of academic and student mobility; examination of the quality of education: improving the methods of teaching foreign citizens, including in English; introduction of the International Standard of Medical Education according to the USMLE system (United States Medical Licensing Examination) into the educational process; participation in the work of international educational and scientific organizations The tasks set for the development and improvement of international activities are successfully implemented due to the constant expansion of the network of partner universities, the implementation of an effective export strategy, the development of a sustainable system of scientific and social partnership, the improvement of the educational process and the improvement of the quality of educational services based on the creative use of international experience.
