In April 2010, the Gomel State Medical University was issued an international certificate for the compliance of the quality management system with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard. This certificate certifies that the quality management system for the design and implementation of educational activities in the field of medical education: pre-university (preparatory courses, preparatory department); higher education (first and second stages of education); postgraduate (internship, internship, clinical internship, postgraduate studies) meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2008. In March 2012, the university was accredited by the State Committee for Science and Technology and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus as a scientific organization. In April 2018, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus conducted the next attestation of the university. In December 2021, the university passed the International institutional and program accreditation of educational programs: "Medicine", "Medical and diagnostic business", "Medical and preventive business". For the period 2007-November 2019. 6355 doctors were graduated, including 597 specialists for foreign countries; 86 candidates and 2 doctors of sciences were trained and defended, including 4 foreign citizens. In 2019, 5 candidate and 1 doctoral dissertations were prepared and defended. In 2020-2021 prepared and defended 8 candidate and 1 doctoral dissertations. 38 departments, as well as a research laboratory, a department of science and scientific and medical information, an editorial and publishing department, a professorial advisory center, a practical training laboratory and other structural units; 19 large clinics equipped with modern equipment, on which the training is based; the clinical base of the university is one of the best in the Republic of Belarus, where the most modern medical technologies are used for the diagnosis and treatment of endocrinological, cardiological, immunological, hematological, ophthalmic, oncological diseases; more than 3850 (including more than 750 foreign) students studying at the faculties of the university; The Regional Scientific and Medical Library is the center of the information and educational space for students, faculty and scientists of the university, practical health doctors in Gomel and the Gomel region. The library provides its users with a rich fund of educational and scientific literature, a collection of documents of the Electronic Library, access via the Internet to world medical resources and electronic catalogs of other libraries, which contributes to the training of highly professional medical personnel. In accordance with the national classifier of the Republic of Belarus, the university implements: - an educational program of higher education of the 1st stage, which ensures the qualification of a specialist with higher education. Training of specialists at the first stage of higher education is carried out in 3 specialties: 1-79 01 01 General Medicine; 1-79 01 04 Medical diagnostic business; 1-79 01 03 Medical and preventive work; - an educational program of higher education of the second stage, which forms the knowledge, skills and abilities of scientific, pedagogical and research work and provides a master's degree. The training of personnel of the highest scientific qualification is organized with and without interruption from work through postgraduate studies, doctoral studies and competition; - educational program of postgraduate education. Currently, 193 people are studying in clinical residency, of which 50 are foreign citizens; - educational program of pre-university training. Candidates of Sciences are trained through full-time and part-time postgraduate courses in 31 specialties. Currently, 76 people are studying in graduate school. Gomel State Medical University is one of the most important centers of medical science in the Republic of Belarus. Scientific work is carried out at 38 departments, in 5 specialized research laboratories.
