News Export by Belarus' Hi-Tech Park 21% up in 2015
In 2015 Belarus' Hi-Tech Park export rose by 21% to $705.6 million, BelTA learned from Valery Tsepkalo, Director of the Hi-Tech Park administration, at a press conference on 21 March. Export accounted for 91.5% of the Hi-Tech Park's total output. In 2016 the figure stood at 46%. The top three exporters in 2015 were EPAM Systems, Game Stream, and IBA IT Park. Resident companies of the IT park compensated for losses caused by falling sales in Russia by selling more in the USA, the UK, Korea, and Switzerland. Software development rose by 80% in 2015 to Br12.58 trillion. Taking into account changes of the U.S. dollar exchange rate and the GDP deflator the annual growth rate reached 119%. The top ten importers of the Hi-Tech Park's services included the USA, Russia, the UK, Germany, Finland, Ireland, Netherlands, Switzerland, Israel, and the Republic of Korea. Last year Hi-Tech Park resident companies penetrated the markets of South Africa, Portugal, Croatia, Serbia, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. In 2015 software developed by the Hi-Tech Park resident companies was sold to customers in 61 countries. Western Europe accounted for 46.7% of the export, the USA for 40.2%, the CIS states for 10.7%. According to Valery Tsepkalo, at present slightly more than 24,000 people work in the Hi-Tech Park, with 3,000 jobs created in 2015.
