(BelTA) – The Belarusian Finance Ministry plans to float $300-400 million worth of government bonds on the home market in H2 2013, Belarusian First Deputy Finance Minister Vladimir Amarin told media on 29 July.

The bonds will be intended for corporations and individuals, BelTA has learned. Since the beginning of the year about $570 million worth of government bonds, including $100 million for individuals, has been floated.

Vladimir Amarin attributed the government’s vigorous efforts to float forex-nominated bonds on the home market to the considerable sums Belarus has to pay to honor its debt commitments. The first half of the year has proven the effectiveness of the policy, said the official.
