(BelTA) - Belarus has every chance to meet the inflation rate forecast of 12% in 2013, Chairperson of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB) Nadezhda Yermakova said during a phone-in session hosted by the Narodnaya Gazeta newspaper on 19 June.

“The calculations show Belarus will meet the inflation rate projections for the year,” the NBRB head said. An important factor is the current monetary policy. “We have every chance to keep inflation at 12% this year,” Nadezhda Yermakova said.

In January-May 2013 the inflation rate was at 6.6% (the projected inflation rate for 2013 is under 12%). In 2012 the inflation rate was 21.8%.
