President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has appointed Chairperson of the National Bank of Belarus Nadezhda Yermakova plenipotentiary representative of the Republic of Belarus to the Board of the Interstate Bank. The President signed corresponding decree No. 432 on 26 September.

The Interstate Bank is an interstate financial institution of the Commonwealth of Independent States. It was established in 1993 by ten CIS countries. The purpose of the Interstate Bank is to promote economic integration and development of national economies of the CIS countries by creating a mechanism for cross-border settlement of payments in local currencies, financing of foreign trade operations of the CIS countries in national currencies, funding of important investment projects.
