Parliamentarians can facilitate restoration of Belarus’ Special Guest status in OSCE PA, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Valery Ivanov said during a workshop of heads of the working groups for cooperation with foreign parliaments of the National Assembly. “Parliamentarians in close contact with the Foreign Ministry should enable the potential of the working groups for cooperation with the parliaments of the OSCE PA member states,” Valery Ivanov said. According to him, having established the contacts with colleagues from the Parliamentary Assembly, deputies will provide them with unbiased information about the situation in Belarus. First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Igor Petrishenko said that “the international position of Belarus calls for coordinated efforts of all branches of power”. By cooperating with parliaments of other countries we can influence the policy of foreign governments towards our country,” he believes.
