Belarus can use more actively the capacities of the Riga port to ship potassium fertilizers and other Belarusian goods in containers which will reduce the cargo transshipment time at the port and expedite the deliveries of the Belarusian exports. These issues were discussed at a meeting between a delegation of the Belarusian Scientific and Industrial Association (BSIA) and business circles in Riga, BelTA learnt from BSIA top advisor for foreign trade Igor Yevteev.

In the near future, the specialists of the Belarusian Potash Company, Belaruskali and Latvian companies will carry out the relevant technical and economic assessment.

The Belarusian delegation and the Belarusian Embassy in Latvia held negotiations-presentations for Latvian organizations dedicated to the economic development of Belarus and possible avenues of the bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation, including the interaction in the financial area. The sides discussed the forms of the possible participation of in the privatization of the Belarusian state-run companies and implementation of Belarusian investment projects.

The participants of the meeting touched upon the involvement of Belarusian economic entities in the implementation of investment projects in .

A cooperation agreement will soon be signed with representatives of the Latvian tourist industry.

BSIA Chairman Nikolai Streltsov and the members of the Belarusian delegation held business meetings with top officials of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Latvian Employers Confederation and Latvian Central Cooperative Union Turiba; the sides signed cooperation agreements.
