News High-Tech Park’s output up 1,5 times to Br390 billion
In 2009 the High-Technology Park’s software production increased by 50% over last year to Br390 billion, director of the HTP administration Valery Tsepkalo reported to President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on 14 January, it was learnt from the press service. The main areas of the HTP operation are the development of ICT and software and their export. This is one of the fast-growing sectors of the Belarusian economy. As of the beginning of the year there were 80 companies registered with the High-Technology Park. A big project was implemented last year with the help of foreign direct investment. An office and production building, the biggest facility of the kind in the country, was built at the HTP, Valery Tsepkalo informed. The head of state was reported about the international cooperation of the High-Technology Park, which has been gaining momentum. For example, a meeting was held with the leader of Malaysia. The Untied Arab Emirates and Azerbaijan have showed their interest in the HTP too.
