The Gomelproyekt Institute has become a winner at the International Quality Tournament of Central and Eastern European Countries, it was learnt from the press service of the State Committee for Standardization of Belarus.

An awarding ceremony was held at a session of the General Assembly of the European Organization for Quality (EOQ). Awardees comprised twelve companies from Belarus, Hungary, Romania, Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Russia and Ukraine.

The Gomelproyekt Institute won in the nomination, Small and Medium-Sized Companies. The company also received the EFQM 5 Stars Recognition for Business Excellence certificate.

The first International Quality Tournament of Central and Eastern European Countries was held in 2005 under the auspices of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) and the European Organization for Quality (EOQ).

Gomelproyekt has expanded the list of the Belarusian companies which were praised for quality at the international level. In 2006 the EFQM 4 Stars Recognition for Business Excellence certificate was conferred on the Brest-based company KOMPO. In 2007 the Belarusian Steel Works received the EFQM 5 Stars Recognition for Business Excellence certificate.
