A Russian delegation, led by Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov will discuss Ukraine's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) Monday in Kiev, a source in the Russian delegation said.

The source said that Russia was expected to warn Ukraine, which is due to join the World Trade Organization (WTO) on May 16, that it will protect its domestic market from the possible influx of uncompetitive goods, as the two countries have a free-trade agreement.

"We welcome Ukraine's accession to the WTO, but it joins [the organization] on very liberal terms, including those in the agricultural sphere," the source said.

The Russian prime minister and his Ukrainian counterpart, Yulia Tymoshenko will chair a session of the Russian-Ukrainian committee on economic cooperation later in the day.

The source also said that the Russian delegation will express its concern over Ukraine's reluctance to fulfill its commitments in the fuel and energy sphere.
