The Belarusian mechanical engineering company Lidselmash and the Kazakh company Saryarka have signed an agreement on farm machinery production, it was learnt from Lidselmash Sales Director Oleg Plavsky.

The document was signed following a meeting of the Industry Ministry top executives led by Industry Minister Alexander Radevich with a Kazakhstan delegation led by Minister of Industry and Trade Aset Isekeshev. Yuri Vashkevich, Lidselmash Director General, and Berik Kamaliev, President of the Saryarka Social-Entrepreneurship Corporation National Company, have signed the agreement.

Saryarka was created as a pilot project by decree of the President of Kazakhstan on 13 January 2007. The mission of the corporation is to assist the economic development of the Akmolinsk and Karaganda oblasts and the Astana city by means of private public partnership.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Industry of Belarus, realization of a joint action plan for fulfilling the 2010-2016 Belarus-Kazakhstan economic cooperation program was also discussed at the meeting. They also agreed to develop cooperation between the Belarusian automaker BelAZ and the Kazakhmys corporation.

Enterprises of the Industry Ministry exported $70 million worth of commodities to Kazakhstan in January-September 2009. At present engineering industry companies have set up a number of assembling enterprises including enterprises that assemble tractors, harvesters, elevators, and farm machinery in Kazakhstan.
