News Belarus plans to export forest products to Turkey and Iran
Belarus is planning to export forest products to Turkey and Iran, Forestry Minister of Belarus Piotr Semashko told a press conference. “These are new export destinations for us. The Forestry Ministry and the Bellesbumprom concern have already prepared trial consignments of products for Turkey and Iran. We are currently considering the logistics and the economic advantages of the supplies to these countries. I think it will be a good deal. We have already established business contacts with Turkish and Iranian businessmen. Belarusian delegations have traveled to Turkey and Iran, and Turkish and Iranian companies that are interested in Belarusian timber have visited Belarus. Belarusian forest goods are exported to Finland, Poland, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Great Britain and the Baltic countries. According to Piotr Semashko, Belarus should increase the export volumes of cylindered and paper wood for cellulose, paper and pressed materials production. It is also necessary to expand the export of garden services. “The list of forest products that we can offer is enormous. We just need to promote our products and establish new contacts on the markets that have become traditional for us,” said Piotr Semashko.
