Big oil refineries to partake in Minsk conference

The largest oil refineries and financial institutions are set to take part in the 3rd international conference, Oil Refining and Export of Oil Products to the Republic of Belarus – Development Prospects and Economic Efficiency. The forum will take place in Minsk on 16-17 November, it was learnt from the Belneftekhim Concern.

The forum is organized by the British company Confidence and Capital under the auspices of the Belarusian Oil Refinery and Belneftekhim.

Presenting their reports at the conference will be representatives of the concern, Naftan, Mozyr Oil Refinery, the Belarusian Oil Trading House, Gomeltransneft Druzhba, the Belarusian Oil Refinery, the National Academy of Sciences, Priorbank and VTB Capital, Argus Export, other Belarusian and foreign agencies and companies.

The conference will pay special attention to the specific character of working with the Belarusian oil refiners and exporters, production of new competitive products. The participants of the conference will discuss the development of alternative trading routes and opportunities of using the existing transport infrastructure.

The program of the conference envisages a charity reception, with the raised funds to be contributed to the Belarusian Children’s Fund.

Minsk hosted conferences on the development of the Belarusian oil refining in 2007 and 2008. Partaking in them were more than 300 guests and delegates – representatives of the largest oil refineries, international banks, service companies including BP, Deutsche Bank, Litasco, Neste Oil, Nordic Storage, TOTSA, Trafigura, BNP Paribas, SGS, Transbunker, Shell, Vitol, Lukoil, RussNeft, THK-BP and others. Those conferences promoted development of Belarus’ efficient trading links and enhancement of the country’s image at the international markets.
