The prospects of launching export of Belarusian farm produce to Algeria were discussed in the course of a visit of a Belarusian delegation led by First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Nadezhda Kotkovets to that country, it was learnt from the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus. The Belarusian side presented a system of veterinary control in beef production in order to obtain a veterinary beef export certificate.

Algeria is a promising market for Belarusian dairy producers. According to experts, Algeria’s annual import makes up 90,000 tonnes of skimmed cream powder and 150,000 tonnes of full cream powder. During the visit the sides coordinated a veterinary dairy export certificate.

The Belarusian side handed over to Algerian counterparts the draft government-to-government agreement between Belarus and Algeria on cooperation in veterinary medicine and the draft agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Algeria on economic and sci-tech cooperation in agricultural industry.

A possibility of exporting Belarusian grain to Algeria was also discussed during the visit. The Belarusian side presented all the necessary certificates.
