Belarus may increase supplies of light industry goods to Sweden

Belarus may increase the supplies of light industry goods to Sweden. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Belarus Stefan Eriksson expressed an interest in developing the bilateral trade during a seminar with the participation of representatives of the Open Trade Gate Sweden Information Center in Minsk on 7 October. The seminar discussed the issues related to promotion of Belarusian light industry goods on the Swedish market.

On 7 October, a delegation of the Swedish Trade Council and the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and Industry arrived in Minsk to help Belarusian companies promote their goods on the Swedish market. “The goal of the visit is to inform how the Belarusian companies may develop their export to Sweden including the rules, requirements and restrictions concerning the supplies of imported goods to Sweden,” the Swedish Ambassador said.

The Belarusian light industry goods are already sold in Sweden in small amounts.

Open Trade Gate Sweden is a one-stop information centre set up by the Swedish Government as a public service to exporters from developing countries.
The overall goal of Open Trade Gate Sweden is to facilitate trade and increase exports from developing countries to Sweden. The scope of its activities extends to all questions concerning the rules and requirements for exporting from a developing country to Sweden and the European Union. Open Trade Gate Sweden was officially inaugurated in March 2005 and forms part of the National Board of Trade, Sweden’s governmental agency for international trade and trade policy. The secretariat is located in Stockholm.
