The cooperation in the cultural area is a vital part of the Belarusian-Chinese relations, Chinese Ambassador to Belarus Lu Guicheng said at the exhibition of modern Chinese ink painting held at the National Museum of History and Art that will be renamed in the National History Museum.

The exhibition opens the Days of Chinese Culture in Belarus timed to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China.

“Culture is the soul of a nation,” the Ambassador underlined. He believes that it is culture that creates the strongest bonds between nations; it enhances mutual understanding and boosts friendship between countries.

China and Belarus have deep cultural and historical roots. The cultural interaction is formalized by intergovernmental agreements. Beginning 2006, Chinese performers have been regularly participating in the Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk festival. The exchange of governmental delegations and art troupes has become traditional.
