Belarusian tractors are in demand on the Czech market even during the crisis, it was learnt from Leonid Astapovich, head of the Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark) office in the Czech Republic on 5 September.

In January-July 2009, amid the global financial crisis, the Czech representative of MTZ managed to increase the sales over the same period of 2008.

MTZ products were showcased at ZEME ZIVITELKA (Mother earth) international agricultural fair in Ceske Budjovice on 27 August – 1 September.

MTZ exhibited eight tractors, three of them being brand new. Belarus-622/925/1022 tractors have an improved design and a radically changed gear box. Two new modifications of Belarus-320 produced by the Bobruisk Plant of Tractor Component Parts were also popular among visitors.

According to Leonid Astapovich, the success at the fair was due to joint activity and wise marketing policy of MTZ on the Czech market. As of September, the company beat the sales figures of the same period 2008.

MTZ exports only new tractor models or the upgraded versions, which meet all the requirements of the Czech Republic.
