Representatives of the Science, Technology and Medium Industry Ministry of Venezuela are studying Belarusian practices used to protect intellectual property rights at Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) and Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ), it was learnt from representatives of the National Intellectual Property Centre.

Peculiarities of intellectual property protection schemes used by the two companies were discussed at the National Intellectual Property Centre on 14 August as the Venezuelan delegation visits Belarus. The visit was arranged as part of the preparations for the Belarusian-Venezuelan project to set up joint ventures in association with MTZ and MAZ in Venezuela.

During the meeting the Venezuelan delegation got familiar with intellectual property protection capabilities that Belarus offers, including the effective legislation in this area, the corresponding infrastructure and procedures.
