MAZ to supply 200 trucks to Venezuela

Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) is preparing a contract for the supply of 200 trucks to Venezuela, it was learnt from the MAZ press service.

Moreover, the Belarusian company is going to sign the protocol of intent on the supply of 600 MAZ buses and 600 trucks to Venezuela.

At present, Minsk Automobile Plant actively promotes its products on new markets. Countries of the Central and North Africa, Asia, Latin America and Middle East are among the priority trends of the company. MAZ has designed more than 60 modifications of trucks specially for these markets.

“The strategy of the company is not to produce more machines than we can sell. The company employs a customized approach,” specialists said.

MAZ produces a lot of machines with 8X4 wheel arrangement for the tropics and impassible roads. The company has started to explore the markets of Congo, Angola and Zimbabwe. MAZ continues to supply trucks to Egypt and Syria. The company has supplied 200 truck assembly sets to Vietnam. Minsk Automobile Plant executes special orders for production of special equipment - garbage trucks and milk tankers.

Minsk Automobile Plant was created in 1944. It was converted into an open joint-stock company in 2009. At present the parent enterprise employs around 27,000 people. MAZ offers over 250 modifications of automobiles, including truck tractors, high-sided trucks, medium-capacity automobiles, dump trucks, log trucks, short log trucks, cross-country vehicles, automobiles fit for special equipment as well as buses and trolley buses. In 2008 MAZ made 23,763 trucks and 1,813 passenger vehicles (1,769 buses and 44 trolley bus assembly sets).
