The implementation of the state innovation development programme has already seen 490 new manufactures and production lines set up in Belarus, Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus Igor Voitov told a press conference on 27 July. 

Fifty new facilities were opened in H1 2009 alone. Among them is the Zhodino CHP plant, a thermogalvanic workshop at the Minsk Automobile Plant, production of bandaging materials at the Lenta Company. 

Over the period under review more than 50 new manufactures and production lines reached the planned production capacity, including the new production line at the Gomelstroimaterialy, the production of new ceramic tiles at the Berezastroimaterialy and others. 

Igor Voitov said that will continue developing such scientific areas as bio and engineering technologies, space technologies, thermal and galvanic equipment, new energy and light-emitting diode technologies.
