Russia does not intend to buy the assets of Belarusian dairies cheap, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the to the Republic of Belarus , Alexander Surikov, told reporters on 17 July. 

“The issue of the purchase of assets of Belarusian dairies and a possible exchange of shares between Belarusian and Russian dairies is still up-to-date. At the same time, nobody intends to get something for free or at a low price. We are currently estimating the real cost, and after that we will negotiate the assets price and their purchase. It depends on the will of the investors and the proprietors,” said the Ambassador. 

According to Alexander Surikov, the Belarusian side has submitted a list of 12-13 plants for consideration. Russian Unimilk and Wimm-Bill-Dann are among the potential partners. “The location of the plants in the primary areas and their conformity to the requirements of Russian and Belarusian markets are the most important criteria to qualify for mutual projects,” said the diplomat.
