Enterprises to produce Belarusian equipment will be set up in within a year, First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko noted during a solemn meeting timed to the Independence Day of the Bolivarian Republic of on 6 July. 

The First Vice Premier noted that for the short period of time, and have intensified the bilateral cooperation significantly owing to the leaders of the two countries. In 2007, the trade increased 7 times as against 2006, in 2008 – 4 times and in 2009, the trade increased 2 times. The sides have started to implement the agreements reached at the highest level.

Despite the difficulties connected with the global financial and economic crisis, the Belarusian-Venezuelan cooperation is developing successfully. The two countries are implementing large-scale projects in various areas including the construction, machine building and petrochemistry. They pay special attention to the joint project on oil extraction in Venezuela .

Vladimir Semashko stressed the importance of the visits at the high and highest levels. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez visited three times – in 2006, 2007 and 2008. The Venezuelan leader is expected to pay a visit to this year as well. Defense Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Ramon Carrizales traveled to with a working visit in June this year. 

In turn, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of to the Republic of Belarus Americo Diaz Nunez noted that the strategic cooperation of and is developing in all the areas including policy, economy and energy.
