Lidagroprommash to increase harvester exports 2,5 times in 2009

In 2009 Lidagroprommash is to export 80 Lida-1300 grain harvesters, up 2.5 times from a year before, said deputy director of the enterprise Andrei Zakharchuk. According to him, it will be the company’s biggest export ever. 

Lida-1300 harvesters arouse a deep interest in . During an exhibition in Izhevsk (Udmurtia) an agreement was reached to supply 33 machines to this Russian region. Twelve harvesters have already been shipped. Experts believe that Udmurtia will become the most promising market of the grain harvesters in 2009. 

Exports to the South Federal District of are being negotiated. Lida harvesters may participate in the harvesting campaign in the region as early as this year. Lidagroprommash machines have not been exported to this region before.

The representatives of the company visited the Krasnodar Krai and Stavropol Krai, Adygeya and Kalmykiya in search of new customers. Dealer agreements were struck. Representatives of the dealer companies and heads of agricultural enterprises visited the Lida-based company and praised the machinery production level. 

The South Federal District placed an order for 27 Lida-1300 harvesters. Ten machines were already shipped to the Omsk oblast. Andrei Zakharchuk reminded that a joint assembly production Omsklidagroprommash was set up by Mechanical Plant Kalachinsky ( Omsk oblast) and Lidagroprommash in March 2009. The Belarusian side owns a 51% stake in the new venture. All in all, the new venture is expected to make 50 vehicles in 2009 and increase the output to 100 by 2011. 

Lidagroprommash extends its reach into other markets. The company has shipped a combine harvester to and plans to deliver four machines to . The company is looking to set up a joint venture in . The company has already signed three dealer contracts with Kazakh companies to deliver sowing and grain harvesting equipment in 2009. “We are keeping an eye on that market and hope to secure our foothold there,” the deputy director said. 

Last year three grain harvesters were exported to . This year no orders have come from so far. 

The company steps up sales of other farm equipment. This year it exports seeders and other equipment to Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan . Forty-three seeders have been shipped to , eighteen to . For the first time two seeders have been exported to . has imported 15 and one seeder. 

In January-May this year, export reached $2.35 million, which makes up 93% as against the same period last year. According to estimates, the export in H1 will be up 46% over the first half year of 2008. This is the target set by the Industry Ministry before the enterprise, Andrei Zakharchuk said. 

In January-May the production totaled Br78 billion, up 16.6%. The labour productively improved by 16.4%. 

Lidagroprommash was founded in 1958. In 2004, it was reorganized into an open joint stock company. This is one of ’ major producers of farm machines. The line-up includes more than 25 types of machines. Lidagroprommash employs around 1,000 professionals
