Belarus’ government promises real income growth in 2012

The government of Belarus promises the increase in real income of the population in 2012, Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich told Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko at a session on 22 November to discuss socioeconomic targets, budget and monetary policy for 2012, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.

The draft documents discussed at the session prioritize social development.

According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the food security of the country will not be compromised.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the major goal for 2012 is balanced development, not adjustment of targets depending on the circumstances. “This means that companies and the economy in general should keep export markets, upgrade production facilities, raise investments and loans and sell their property only to create more efficient facilities. Thrift is paramount – on every construction site, at every state-run organization. While processing such a great amount of metal, oil, gas, wood, we should also enhance labor efficiency, which is the second most important requirement besides saving,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
