Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Alexander Guryanov leads the Belarusian delegation at talks with the European Free Trade Association. The sides are expected to discuss a free trade treaty, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told BelTA.

Apart from discussing trade in commodities and services the Customs Union countries and the European Free Trade Association countries are expected to discuss regulations on intellectual property, investments, rules for the origin of commodities, technical barriers in trade, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, mutual ties between trade and environment and some other matters.

The treaty on free trade between the Customs Union and the European Free Trade Association will create favorable conditions for the promotion of commodities and the attraction of capital, technologies. It will improve the competitive ability of the parties to the treaty and will allow enhancing cooperation between business circles of the sides.

The third round of talks to sign the treaty on free trade between the Customs Union and the European Free Trade Association is expected to take place in Geneva on 29 August – 1 September. The Belarusian delegation includes representatives of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, Economy Ministry, State Customs Committee, Agriculture and Food Ministry, the National Center for Intellectual Property, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
