EDB to meet in Almaty in October

The Eurasian Development Bank is expected to hold its 6th international conference, Customs Union and the EurAsEC Common Economic Space: Prospects for Further Integration, in Almaty on 13-14 October, BelTA has learnt from the bank’s press service.

The forum will be divided into several sections. These sections will highlight the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space enhancement, labor and educational migration in the CIS, financial integration in the region, mutual investments and trade between the CIS countries, transport infrastructure integration, energy and energy efficiency, EurAsEC Anti-Crisis Fund activities and joint anti-crisis strategies in the region.

The participants of the conference will focus on the best practices of economic integration in the EurAsEC and CIS member states, a search for new ways of multilateral cooperation, evaluation of the prospects for the formation of the Eurasian Common Economic Space, and coordination of anti-crisis measures in the countries of the region.

Leading researchers, experts and specialists from the EurAsEC and the CIS member states have been invited to take part in the forum.

The Eurasian Development Bank is an international financial organization that Russia and Kazakhstan founded in January 2006 to further the development of market economies of the member states, to encourage their sustainable economic growth and to expand mutual trade and economic ties. The EDB’s authorized capital exceeds $1.5 billion. The EDB’s member states are Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Tajikistan and Belarus.
