Belarus’ Culture Ministry interested in more professional training abroad

The Belarusian Culture Ministry will organize more professional training abroad. This issue was discussed at the session dedicated to the organization of foreign business trips for students, postgraduates, doctoral candidates, teachers of cultural establishments, BelTA learned from spokesperson of the Culture Ministry Anna Smolskaya.

“The organization of professional training abroad proved the necessity to improve the legal framework. The Culture Ministry initiated amendments to the legislation,” Anna Smolskaya explained.

Thus Decree No. 218 envisages an opportunity to provide financial aid from the President’s fund to support culture and arts. It will be used to pay for training of specialists abroad.

The ministry also drafted a decree “On the amendments and additions to some orders of the President of the Republic of Belarus”. It was submitted to the government. The decree is aimed at introducing a provision on the special fund of the President to support talented youth and invite foreign specialists to hold workshops and seminars.

The Culture Ministry worked out a draft provision to organize professional train for students and staff of cultural universities and organizations abroad. The document was submitted to the Council of Ministers.

After the session the parties decided to create the database of students, postgraduates, doctoral candidates, teachers of cultural establishments who will undergo professional training abroad in the near future. There are also plans to conclude more agreements with leading cultural universities which will supervise the training, to prepare a list of existing international agreements on cultural cooperation between Belarus’ Culture Ministry and foreign counterparts.

According to Anna Smolskaya, within three years 17 representatives of cultural universities were trained abroad. In 2011 ten people went to Russia to get professional training in the cultural universities and organizations.

Foreign training becomes more necessary. It helps enrich professional knowledge and promote achievements of the national culture. The support of talented youth is one of the future cultural priorities, according to Anna Smolskaya.
