Exports of Minsk companies to Kyrgyzstan soar 13 times in January-April

In January-April 2011, the export of Minsk companies to the CIS member states made $2,094.6 million, the import $3,159.4 million, up 63.4% and 63.6% over the same period a year before, BelTA learnt from the Chief Statistics Bureau of Minsk.

In January-April the CIS member states accounted for 41.8% of export and 53.7% of import of Minsk.

The major trading partners are Russia and Ukraine. In January-April these countries accounted for 87.6% of Minsk’s trade among the CIS states (the trade with Russia made up 67.1%).

Over this period the exports to Kyrgyzstan rose 13 times, Turkmenistan 10 times, Kazakhstan by 82.3%, Ukraine by 73.1%, Azerbaijan by 71.6%, Moldova by 62.6%, Russia by 50.2%, Tajikistan by 40.1%.

Minsk-based companies export a wide variety of goods. The bulk of exports is made by oil products (766,000 tonnes to the tune of $669.5 million). The supplies of oil products rose by 83.5% over January-April 2010.

Other major exports include tractors, trucks, refrigerators and cooling equipment, engines, component parts for cars and tractors, electric transformers, milk powder, condensed milk and cream.

From the CIS states Minsk imports oil and oil products, ferrous metals, engines, insulated wire, streetcars and railway cars.
