Belarus’ export of services up 19.9% in January-April

In January-April 2011 Belarus’ export of services went up 19.9% over the same period 2010 to the total of $1.6 billion or, BelTA learnt from the National Statistics Committee.

The import of services increased some 26.9% to $938.7 million.

CIS countries accounted for 24.7% of the total volume of export of and for 27.6% of import.

In January-April 2011 the export of construction services was up more than two times as against the same period last year to $54.2 million, that of computer and information services went up 1.4 times to $74.3 million, the export of royalties and licensing fees soared almost two times to $4.3 million. The export of transport services went up 19% to 1.1 billion, the export of architectural and engineering services grew 2.7% to $18.9 million, the export of operational leasing went up 19% to $31.3 million, the export of travel services went up 4.8% to $119.7 million. The export of communications was down 9.8% to $53.3 million.

The import of construction services went up 2.2 times to $71.6 million, royalties and licensing fees – 18.5% to $29.4 million, transportation services – 1.4 times ($500.8 million), computer and information services – 33% to $13.7 million.

Belarus posted $669.9 million in services trade surplus. In January-April 2011 the trade surplus was $602.6 million.
