The international scientific and practical conference "Belarus: History and Present Day" will be held in Minsk on 25-27 May, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War.

The conference will focus on the interpretation of new research in museum displays and exhibitions, the problems of actualization of historical and cultural heritage, continuity of historical memory, historical aspects of governance and prospects for regulatory governance, the formation of historical consciousness.

The conference will be attended by scientists, historians, museum and library workers, economists, sociologists, lawyers, journalists, university professors, graduate students from Belarus, Russia, Germany and Slovakia.

The program of the conference includes a plenary session, a roundtable, a press conference, and master classes on museum exposition design.

The first session of the scientific board of the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War will take place during the conference on 26 May. Members of the scientific board among whom are distinguished Belarusian scientists (historians, sociologists and political analysts), heads of large Russian and Belarusian museums, will discuss the current problems and development prospects for the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War.

The organizers of the conference are the Culture Ministry of Belarus, the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War, the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus, the National Library of Belarus and the Russian Center of Science and Culture.
