Mogilev-based company Lenta has launched export supplies to Finland, BelTA learnt from the Bellegprom Concern.

In November €34,500 worth of small ware (ribbons, fasteners, etc.) was delivered to Finland in line with the contract signed between the Belarusian company and the Finnish wholesale and retail trading company Tekstilipalvelu. The Lenta company has also sent samples of new products to that country. The company plans to start deliveries to the United States in the near future.

In January-October 2010 the Lenta export increased by 57.1% to $11 million as against the same period last year. The products were supplied to Canada, France, Estonia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia, Uzbekistan. The Russian Federation remained the company’s main market. The products were mainly exported to that country under the Russian Defense Ministry’s order. “The company has a good dealer network in Moscow. The Russian Federation accounts for nearly 90% of the Lenta export,” the concern said. This year a joint company has been opened in Nizhny Novgorod.

In January-October 2010 the company’s output went up by 27.7% in comparable prices as against the same months a year ago. The production of consumer goods grew 26.6%.

The company was founded in 1961 and reincorporated in 1993. Lenta is the leading textile and small ware producer in Belarus. The company produces over 70 descriptions of goods for the sewing, knitwear, footwear, electrotechnical, furniture, chemical and other industries. Up to 60% of the products are exported.
