The chiefs of the customs services of Belarus and Lithuania will carry out a joint inspection of the border checkpoints Kotlovka-Lavorishkes, Kamennyi Log-Myadininkai, Benyakoni-Salcininkai, Privalka-Rajdargas, BelTA learnt from the press service of the State Customs Committee of Belarus.

To ensure practical interaction between the customs services of Belarus and Lithuania, the inspection will be carried out by the chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus Alexander Shpilevsky and Director General of the Customs Department under the Finance Ministry of Lithuania Antanas Shipavicius.

The chiefs of the customs services intend to see how effectively the border checkpoints use the technologies of customs control and clearance and how effective the interaction between them is.

The sides will also inspect the infrastructure of the border checkpoints in order to determine the priorities for its development, and to create appropriate conditions for cross-border movement of passengers, goods and vehicles and also for the operation of watchdog services exercising their functions on the border.

During the inspection the sides are set to discuss joint projects implemented within the framework of the international technical assistance and cross-border cooperation programs. The sides will also consider the measures to reduce lines at the Belarusian-Lithuanian border and discuss the issues related to the new international status of the Losha-Shumskas border checkpoint.
