Belarusian and Polish central banks to intensify cooperation

The central banks of Belarus and Poland will intensify cooperation in all the areas including the development and implementation of the monetary policy. The agreement on cooperation has been reached at a meeting between Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus Piotr Prokopovich, Marek Belka, President of the National Bank of Poland, and Zdislaw Sokal, member of the Board of the National Bank of Poland, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Bank of Belarus. The talks were held in Brest on 12-13 August.

The sides have agreed to make regular visits at the level of leadership, experts. The two banks will organize personnel training as well.

The sides discussed the socio and economic development of the countries, the state and prospects of the Belarusian and Polish banking systems, the implementation of the monetary policy, the cooperation with international financial organizations.

The sides noted that recently the central banks of Belarus and Poland have been establishing productive cooperation. The Polish capital is involved in the Belarusian banking system. Belarusbank, BPS Bank and Belinvestbank have their representation offices in Poland.
