Lukashenko urges multiplier effect in manufacturing industries

There should be a multiplier effect in the development of Belarusian manufacturing enterprises, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said during the visit to the enterprise Tehnolit in Mogilev on 22 July, BelTA has learned. During the visit to the enterprise the President was informed about the development of innovative technologies and the organization of production of high-quality engine parts, promotion of export and import substitution. Alexander Lukashenko was interested in the development prospects of the enterprise. “A good enterprise has been established. But it is just a small seed which gave sprouts. We need to gather the harvest, sow the seeds once again to get more. There should be a multiplicative effect,” the President said. Industry Minister Vitaly Vovk briefed the head of state on the proposal to provide additional premises for the development of Tehnolit at the Mogilev-based plant Strommashina. Plans have been made to set up an industrial park with various production facilities there. Alexander Lukashenko expressed doubt that it was essential. “When trade unions raised the question about Strommashina, we agreed that we will involve the whole team and premises of this enterprise in serious production,” the Belarusian leader said. In his words, Strommashina's premises could be used to launch the manufacture of various kinds of equipment for the potash industry because a lot of money is now spent on the import of this equipment. “The enterprise (Strommashina. – BelTA's note) will have a close-knit complex, there will be no need to divide it into workshops. This pattern can be used to improve any enterprise.” Tehnolit Director Alexander Bodyako told reporters that the enterprise operates well and is developing thanks to the innovative casting technology which is unparalleled in the world. “We offer high-quality casting for small series of parts for special equipment and occupied the niche which had not been occupied by other enterprises specializing in the mass manufacture of such products,” he said. The director explained that the establishment of casting facilities at enterprises in demand of small batches of such parts, as a rule, leads to the prime cost increase and quality deterioration. “As a result, a number of Belarusian and Russian enterprises closed their casting workshops and started buying our products,” Alexander Bodyako said. The enterprise is expanding and developing, he added. Tehnolit specializes in the manufacture of parts for tractors, agricultural, road, construction, and special equipment. The plant offers a wide range of products made of abrasion-resistant cast iron. The enterprise uses a unique method to produce this cast iron. For the designing of this method the company was awarded the State Prize in Science and Technology. Tehnolit products are delivered to hundreds of Belarusian enterprises, including defense plants and manufacturers of farm machines. The plant cooperates with MTZ, MAZ, BelAZ, MZKT, Gomselmash, KamAZ, Ural Compressor Plant. Tehnolit products sell well in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, the European Union, and the United States. The company exports almost 80% of products.
