Belarus-Bulgaria business forum highlights closer business relations

The Belarusian-Bulgarian business forum and a business matchmaking session that took place in Parvomay, Plovdiv Province, were aimed at strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

Partaking in the forum was a delegation of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange led by Chairman of the Board Arkady Salikov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Bulgaria Vladimir Voronkovich. Bulgaria was represented by the Mayors of Plovdiv, Parvomay, Khaskovo, representatives of the chambers of commerce and industry of Plovdiv and Khaskovo, businessmen of the region.

Vladimir Voronkovich presented the information on the development of trade and economic cooperation of the two countries, the experience of using Belarusian agricultural equipment in Bulgaria. Information materials on Belarus’ economic potential were distributed among the participants of the forum.

Arkady Salikov told the participants of the forum about the opportunities of electronic and exchange trade instruments of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and about the opening of a regional stock warehouse in Gabrovo, which considerably expands cooperation opportunities between the countries.

The parties discussed the prospects of intensifying trade and economic relations between economic operators of the two countries with the use of BCCI services. The Belarusian diplomat also met with Minister of Agriculture and Food Dimitar Grekov. The sides discussed measures to intensify contacts between the agriculture ministries of the two countries within the agreement on economic and sci-tech cooperation. Besides, the parties considered the preparations for the fourth meeting of the intergovernmental commission for trade, economic and sci-tech cooperation.
