Belarusian Kupalinka opens trading house in Moscow

The Belarusian manufacturer of knitted underwear and outwear OAO Kupalinka has opened a trading house in Moscow, BelTA learned from Valentina Timoshenko, the company’s Deputy Director General for Commerce.

As big as about 100 square meters, the trading house will target primarily wholesale traders. The Belarusian company has also set up an online store to sell products of the Moscow trading house. The entire range of Kupalinka products is in demand in Russia.

Kupalinka plans to open a proprietary shop with an area of up to 100 square meters in Yaroslavl in late May – early June. This shop will target retail buyers. The Soligorsk-based manufacturer also has a proprietary shop and a logistics center in Yekaterinburg.

In January-April 2012 Kupalinka exported over $3 million worth of merchandise, 15.8% up on the same period of last year. The share of export in the total make amounted to 45.2%. Kupalinka plans to raise the figure to 50% this year. In January-April 2012 the company turned out nearly 2 million knitwear products, which was roughly the same as last year. The profitability of sold products amounted to 17.8% in Q1 2012, with the profitability of sales at 13.7%.

The company has eight proprietary shops in all the oblasts of Belarus. There are plans to open another one in Molodechno in August.

Founded in 1969, the enterprise was reincorporated as a joint-stock company in 1997. OAO Kupalinka manufactures textile fabric, knitted underwear and outwear for adults and children. Every year it renews about half of the product range. The company employs over 1,200 people.
